haiduk is a heavy metal solo-project by guitarist luka milojica. hailing from canada, the project was conceived in early 2009 and came to life with the release of the 8-song demo cd "plagueswept" on feb 13, 2010.
aggressive and cold, the sound of haiduk is a direct channeling of haunting musical ideas from composer to listener, as the songwriting, recording and finalizing of the music is a solitary process. free from outside influence, the songs lure the listener towards themes of fantasy, nature, solitude, folklore and myth.
worming its way through the underground, "plagueswept" was met with positive reviews and praised for its dark atmosphere and melodic style which combined elements of death metal, black metal and thrash. the release of "plagueswept" saw haiduk performing successful local live shows as a one-man unit. haiduk is currently working on a full-length debut featuring all-new material. The 10-song theme-album is set for release in early 2012.
